These beautiful handicraft necklaces are made by Syrian Armenian women now living in Armenia. Each piece plays a role in the preservation of traditional Armenian needlework techniques.  This beautifully symmetrical "forward" stitch is inspired by the traditions of the Vaspuragan region that originated around Lake Van.  Copyright 2024 © Homeland Development Initiative Foundation.
