For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Beautifully Restored 1945 Parker Vacumatic Emerald Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, breather tube, and barrel. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. Hand polished the Gold Filled Split Arrow Clip, Gold Filled Double Ring Cap Banding and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, Polished and Waxed the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the split arrow gold filled clip that displays no brassing. The double ring cap banding is in excellent condition with no brassing. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel is clearly and crisply stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 5, for 1945, in the third quarter". One interesting "error" on this pen is the "double stamp" of GEO. S. PARKER" and the missing "PA" in Parker with the stamping "RKER". This is an anomaly and neat collector variant for those that like these error pens. NOTE: I spoke with several collectors in the fountain pen world and none have seen this type of error. The transparency of the barrel is water-clear and one can easily see through the barrel. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.
The Vacumatic Filling System has the proper plastic filling unit for this 3rd Generation Vacumatic. It works great, typically in my tests with water about 7-8 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and now operates flawlessly.
The Parker NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow Nib. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a medium point measuring roughly .70mm when measured with digital calipers. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with a medium to double broad stroke. In the writing sample provided, the medium line measures at .70mm and the double broad stroke measures 1.29mm when measured with digital calipers under medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen displays a lovely Emerald Pearl color with lovely bright gold filled trim. I grade this Parker Vac in Excellent Condition. It is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection.
